Here's a picture of Mason and the band at their game last week. I have circled Mason. We forgot to get the camera that night, this picture was taken by a band parent.

First day of school

Yesterday was the first day of school for Bailie. She is now in the 4th grade and likes her teacher. She has also started dance back up, taking 2 classes on her own and teaching one.

Mason started school on Monday. They let the freshman have one full day in the school by themselves. Yes, freshaman, can you believe he is a freshman this year? It seems like just yesterday the assistant principal at the elementary school was pulling him out of my car kicking and screaming.......

He is also in the band playing percussion. I guess High School football games are in our future again!

Nothing new

Just a quick update. Mason started summer band last week, he seems to like it. I guess we will be spending our weekends at High School football games again. Haven't done that in years! Mason also got his new contacts yesterday, he looks so grown up with them.

Bailie is just hanging out and getting ready for school. Her dance classes start up next week so we will be busy with that.

Steve and I are trying to enjoy the rest of summer before things really get busy with school.

Bailie's dance recital

Bailie had her dance recital a few weeks ago and she did great! She was a little nervous because she was a leader in two dances and the little girls where watching her for the steps to the dance. Here are a few pictures, they aren't that great because where were not supposed to take pictures during the recital so my flash was off.

The note

Steve's brother found this "suicide" note in the wall when they where gutting one of the bedrooms. We are not sure if it is a prank or not.

The "haunted" house

Steve's brother bought a house in Galveston that was built in 1912. He is restoring it to it's original state and it's haunted! Apparently a door bell goes off, there is no door bell in the house and there never has been. Also the doors upstairs close on there own. I have never experinced these things yet but several family members and contractors have.

Back (do you see the little girl in the upstairs window?) I took this picture from the garage apartment, no one was in the house at the time. It could be the reflection from the window OR it could be something else...........

Update

Today Mason has an awards program at school, the band is also playing. Mason is a finalist for the 8th grade History award, only 3-6 kids are up for the awards so he has a good chance. Mason is also turning 14 on Sunday, I can't believe he will be going into High School next year!

Bailie is practicing for her upcoming dance recital. She has been working hard, she is a leader and is teaching 2 classes of 3-5 year olds tap. It's really cute watching them. She also came home yesterday and told us she only missed 1 question on her TAKS test. Thank god the kids take after Steve in the "smarts" department.

Ashlie is still trying to land a full-time job. She has been working for Cox Communications (4 local radio stations) for a while now, she enjoys it but really needs something more permanent.

Our grandson Tyler is here till July. He is just the cutiest thing!

Johnathan bought a house in February and has his hands full when Tyler is here.

Check back often, I will try and update on a regular basis!

The Big Island

We flew to the Big Island and stayed for 6 days. I LOVED the island. It was do different from Oahu, it was beautiful.

We stayed at the Hilton Waikoloa Village, the place was huge! I loved it, when we go back I would stay there again.

Steve took a lot of great pictures, way to many to post here so feel free to go to www.snapfish.com and view them. You will need my log in information and I don't want to post it here so please email me at tra@eepb.com and I will be glad to send it to you. You must see all the pictures, here are a few of my favorites.

Tour of Island

We took an 11 hour tour of the Island. It made for a long day but it was the best way to see the island since we didn't get a car on Oahu. I wish we would have had more time on the North Shore coast, the water was so clear and we would have loved to stop in the surf shops.

Pearl Harbor

I have always wanted to go to Pearl Harbor and it was the first thing we did. When we got on the memorial it was so quiet and peaceful. I think it was my favorite thing we did on Oahu.
